How to complain about a forum posting If you have a complaint about a forum posting, for example if you feel that it's libellous or offensive, then you can find a link against each posting that allows you to "complain to poster". In line with our groundrules, we suggest you take up your complaint first of all with the member of the site who posted the message to ask him to change or delete his posting. We have provided a form where you can send an email to the person who created the message in which you can explain why you would like him to change it. A copy of your complaint will be sent to the web site administrators as well. The email message will contain a link to the posting. Members who create postings are able to edit or delete them. If you do not feel that the person who created the posting has dealt with your objection adequately, the administrators have the ability to suspend the posting. The posting's contents will not then be displayed to other forum members. However, if the posting already has replies, then the replies will still be visible. In this case, the posting will display "Posting deleted by xxx". The administrators of the web site will endeavour to act on on your complaint within 14 days (subject to their availability). Remember that members of the site have the right to free expression: you should only use this route to complain about a posting if you feel that it breaches our groundrules. If you simply disagree with the point of view expressed, you should reply to the posting in the normal way to register your disagreement. |
